Afghan Voice Agency (AVA_Monitoring, Speaking at a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that as part of the Doha Agreement, Afghanistan is obligated to prevent terrorism against Pakistan from its soil.
This comes more than a week after a high-level Pakistani delegation, led by Asif, paid a visit to Kabul to discuss various issues, including security and bilateral cooperation with representatives of the Afghan interim government.
In the meeting, both sides discussed the threat of terrorism in the region, especially from the outlawed militant groups of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP).
Despite this, Pakistan’s security has deteriorated for over a few months; yesterday, in the bomb blast in Bolan city of Balochistan province, at least nine police officers were killed, and 13 others were injured.
Khawaja Asia expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the terrorist incident in Balochistan and noted that the security forces are valiantly fighting against terrorism.
However, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, Mullah Baradar, stated that political and security issues should be kept apart from trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
