Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): A Russian newspaper quoted an expert of the Russian International Affairs Council and reported that Saudi Arabia wants to resume talks on revitalizing the JCPOA.
Saudi Arabia was one of the serious opponents of the Iran nuclear deal, and even the country's relations with the United States were strained during the presidency of Barack Obama due to the nuclear deal with Iran.
According to the report of the Arabic-language section of the "Rashatudi" news network, citing the "Nizavisimaya Gazeta" newspaper, about the change of Saudi position on the Iran nuclear deal, the Saudi authorities have demanded the resumption of negotiations to revive the JCPOA.
Kirill Simnov, an expert of the Russian International Affairs Council, told this newspaper that Riyadh's position on the JCPOA has changed. Saudi Arabia, which for a long time was between the two options of sanctions and the nuclear agreement, demanded the imposition of sanctions and continued pressure against Iran, now it has changed its position.
He added that in this field, Oman plays the role of mediator. From the point of view of the Saudis, Iran should maintain its influence in Yemen to convince the Houthis on the path of reconciliation with Saudi Arabia.
