In the last 20 years, nothing has been done in the health sector in Afghanistan
The Acting Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate in a conversation with AVA reporter, emphasizing that nothing has been done in the health sector in Afghanistan in the last 20 years, said that in the last two years, 200 hospitals have been built and in the future they plan to build 600. Another hospital should be built in the country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Dr. Qalandar Ebad, who was talking to an AVA reporter on the sidelines of the closing of the first meeting of blood transfusion managers of the Group of Five (G5) member countries in Tehran, emphasized that this is a fixed statement that in the last twenty years Nothing has been done in the health sector, and one of their priority tasks is to identify white areas.
According to him, white areas are areas where there are no health and treatment centers.
Dr. Ebad emphasized that "for us, all the people of Afghanistan are the same and it is necessary to provide health services in all areas", and noted that: in the course of two years, we have built 200 hospitals and in the future we plan to build 600 more hospitals. We have decided to bring health services to areas where access to these services is very difficult and increase the capacity of doctors.
This is despite the fact that, according to him, during his trip to Tehran, he had many meetings with the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and reached an understanding; in the areas of capacity building, specialized programs for Afghan doctors, technology, nursing, providing first aid to patients and various other areas.
According to the Acting Minister of Public Health, in the near future, a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran will visit Afghanistan and they will see the situation in Afghanistan closely, and after this trip, we will see how many people and in which departments should be sent to Iran for training and practical work.
Meanwhile, following the fall of the republican regime and the withdrawal of foreign forces and the cessation of their aid, as well as the migration of some doctors and scientific staff, including in the health sector, many problems arose in the health sector, but the Islamic Emirate managed to prevent the collapse of Afghanistan's health system with the cooperation of some international organizations during the past one and half years. By projecting the field of providing health services in the country during the last 20 years and making it completely dependent on international aid, unfortunately, no vital and fundamental work has been done in this field and this field is facing many problems.
