Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abbas Hassanzada, head of the Supreme Quranic Council, said in an interview with AVA that the existence of a strong religious spirit and the sensitivity of Afghans towards foreigners was one of the main factors behind the Soviet Union's defeat in Afghanistan.
He also emphasized that the cohesion and solidarity between the Afghan ethnic groups in the war with the Soviet Union was another factor in the defeat of the Red Army in Afghanistan, as the Afghans fought against the armed Soviet army with their bare hands.
Mr. Hassanzada added that, unfortunately, during the Soviet occupation, Afghanistan turned into ruins. More than one million martyrs, tens of thousands of disabled people and millions of others were forced to migrate to foreign countries.
This religious scholar added that during the 14 years of the presence of the Soviet forces in Afghanistan, serious crimes were committed by Russian soldiers against Afghans, and today many of those soldiers confess to their crimes and what they did to the people of Afghanistan.
He stated: After the victory of Mujahedeen, those who were in charge of leading the war against the former Soviet Union were not fully prepared to govern, this caused the continuation of the crisis and civil wars in Afghanistan.
At the same time, Aminullah Sufizada, an expert on political issues, said in an interview with AVA: As a result of the Soviet aggression, all the political, social, economic and military infrastructures of our country were destroyed and suffered.
According to Sufizada, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan created the ground for the illegal interference of countries in the internal affairs of Afghanistan, which caused civil wars and a humanitarian crisis in our country.
This political informant had the means that the Red Army of the former Soviet Union left Afghanistan despite failure and defeat; but behind them, he left huge destructions and many calamities.
He added that the Islamic Emirate and the political leaders of our country should have clear plans to manage the crisis and ensure national security.
It should be remembered that on 27
th December 1979, the armed forces of the Red Army of the former Soviet Union entered Afghanistan through the port of Hairatan by the order of Leonid Brezhnev, the leader of the Communist Party at that time.
However, after ten years of aggression and the burning wars, on 15
th of February 1990, he was expelled from Afghanistan by accepting the defeat against the Mujahedeen. They were displaced to neighboring countries and other far and near countries.
