Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Martin Griffiths, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, tweeted today (Tuesday, January 31, 2023) that the United Nations needs to continue humanitarian operations in the health and education sectors, which have already continued.
The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations adds that because women have the "right to work", their presence in providing humanitarian aid in Afghanistan is important and they should return to work.
Previously, Martin Griffiths, the deputy secretary-general of the United Nations and the humanitarian aid coordinator of this organization, had arrived in Kabul at the head of a high-level delegation and had met and talked with various officials of the Islamic Emirate.
Griffiths has announced the collection of $4.6 billion in 2023 and its distribution to 28 million Afghans.
