Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: French President Emmanuel Macron warned on Monday (January 30) about any action by Ukraine to use weapons sent by the West to attack Russian territory.
During a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in The Hague, Macron said that Ukraine should not attack Russian territory with the weapons given to it by Western countries.
According to "Ryanovsti" website, he explained about this: "One of the criteria for providing weapons [to Ukraine] is that they should not lead to an increase in conflict. This means that the weapons provided [to Kiev] should not be used to attack Russian territory."
The French president emphasized that the weapons that were delivered to the authorities of Kiev should only be used to protect this country against Russian attacks.
According to this report, Macron stated in another part of his speech that France has not received a new request from Ukraine to send more weapons to this country.
"We make decisions [to provide weapons to Ukraine] based on formulated requests," Rianavosti quoted him as saying. We have not received such a request so far. "But every time a request comes in, we evaluate them to see what's useful for it and what we can do in a timely manner."
Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sent a letter to his French counterpart on Sunday evening, asking him to prevent Russian athletes from participating in next year's Olympics.
