Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In a situation where less than a month is left until the one-year anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine says that his country is implementing the NATO mission.
Media sources from Ukraine reported that the country's defense minister repeated the request of Kiev officials from the West to send weapons and told them that Ukraine is implementing the NATO mission.
According to Rashatody, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, took a strong position against Russia and said to Western countries: "Today, Ukraine is dealing with this threat."
He, who was interviewed by "TSN" TV channel of Ukraine, continued: "Today we are carrying out NATO's mission without spilling their blood, we gave our blood, so we expect them to give us weapons."
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine continued: "They (NATO member countries) certainly understand." We used to tell them this and they would smile. They, my colleagues, the Ministers of Defense (NATO) make it clear in their speeches that we understand that you are protecting the entire civilized world and the entire West, you are the real shield of civilization.
The admission of this senior Kiev official about the implementation of the "NATO mission" was made in a situation where Russia has always warned about the relations of this Western military alliance with Ukraine for many years and has called the country's accession to NATO a red line.
The statements of news reporter Alexey Reznikov have been raised while, according to some Moscow officials, one of the reasons for starting the war against Ukraine was Russia's opposition to the country's accession to NATO.
On February 6, 2022, the Russian army sent military forces to Ukraine on the order of the President of this country, Vladimir Putin, and the conflicts between the two sides continue to this day.
Since the beginning of this war, Western countries, led by the United States and England, have been providing all kinds of military, weapons, intelligence and financial support to Ukraine, and at the same time, they have applied unprecedented pressure against Russia.
