The visit of 11 million domestic and foreign visitors to the National Museum of the country in the last one year
The Ministry of Information and Culture says that in 1401, more than 11 million people visited the National Museum of Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abdul Matin Qane, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Information and Culture, said in an interview with AVA that 976 of the total 11 million visitors were foreign tourists.
 
He added: There are many plans in the field of creating ease and attracting tourists in the country in the future, and important steps have been taken so far in the field of preserving historical cultural values and ancient works, which is the most important mission of the Department of Information and Culture.
 
Qane stated: According to the letter from the leadership of the Islamic Emirate, all officials of the center and provinces are obliged to protect the ancient monuments and historical values of the country.
 
He also stated: The Islamic Emirate has created a security unit called 012, whose task is to protect the cultural artifacts and historical values of the country.
 
According to Qane: 012 forces, while protecting historical monuments, have managed to return 2,500 ancient artifacts that the smugglers wanted to take out of the country back to the national museum.
 
He further said that in 33 provinces of the country, the officials of the Department of Information and Culture are registering ancient monuments and are working around the clock to restore ancient areas and revive these monuments.
 
Regarding the works in the National Museum, Qane said: Currently, more than 8,000 historical works are registered and preserved in the National Museum of the country, and the works that were smuggled to neighboring countries after the recent development were sold with the cooperation of Qatar. It was collected in Malaysia and then returned to the country's national museum by the officials of the Department of Information and Culture.
 
Continuing his speech, Qane said: In 1401, more than 11 million visitors visited the National Museum, of which 976 were foreign tourists.
 
He emphasized that the Ministry of Information and Culture has many plans in the field of facilitating and attracting foreign and domestic tourists in the country.
 
It should be noted that years of war in Afghanistan have caused the destruction or smuggling of many historical and ancient monuments of the country.
