Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Yesterday, Tuesday, December 20, a letter signed by Mawlavi Neda Mohammad Nadim, Acting Minister of Higher Education, was published on social media, in which the urgent order to suspend the education of girls in universities across the country until further notice has been given.
Some media have reported that Ziaullah Hashemi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Higher Education, has confirmed this letter.
Following the disclosure of this decision, which the government officials have not yet said about the manner and purpose of its adoption, negative reactions and criticisms have been raised.
Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Sayed Isa Hussaini Mazari, the head of Tebyan Social Cultural Activities Center and Afghan Voice Agency (AVA), in response to this decision, published a message on his social media pages and emphasized: Learning about the suspension of girls' education in universities by the Ministry of The higher education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, if it is true, is really impressive and risky.
He continued: The expectation was that schools would be opened for girls, not that the gates of universities would be locked.
This cultural and social activist stated that "we don't know what politics is behind such decisions!", and noted that while the country has various problems and subversions in various fields, which must be solved with urgency and priority practical and firm steps should be taken, but instead, a decision is taken that not only confuses people's thoughts inside the country and worries them more than ever, but also creates serious doubts about the atmosphere of the region and the world in relation to the emirate.
He expressed his hope that the intelligentsia of the government will understand the domestic and foreign sensitivities more than before, and remove such excuses from the hands of enemies and light rivals, so that they will not succeed in weakening the nascent structure of the country by making use of these excuses.
