The Kabul-Kandahar highway blocked by traffic
Officials in the Ministry of Public Works say that the Kabul-Kandahar highway has been blocked in several parts of Ghazni Province due to flooding.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Officials of the Ministry of Public Works have asked all passengers of this highway to refrain from traveling on this route until further notice.
 
The devastating floods of the last few days have left huge financial and human losses in different provinces of Afghanistan.
 
In a tweet, Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, asked the international community and international aid organizations to fulfill their humanitarian mission and provide financial support to the flood-affected people in various provinces, especially Logar and Ghazni, as soon as possible.
 
Nazari also asked the aid agencies to help the Afghan government in building shelters and housing for the victims.
 
Although the deputy of the United Nations Office, in a meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Combating Disasters, announced the first aid for 6,000,000 families in 11 provinces, but the amount of destruction and damage caused by the recent floods is high, and the coordination of national and international institutions is needed for more aid.
