Agreement between Afghan_Pak reached to facilitate coal trade
Kabul and Islamabad have agreed on coal transportation via land routes to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_Monitoring, Amid soaring furnace oil prices in the international market, Pakistan is already importing coal from Afghanistan for running power-generating plants.

Pakistan was already importing coal from the neighbouring country in small quantities for power generation via Chaman, Dawn reported on Sunday.

Earlier in the week, the two sides concluded a new agreement coal imports via custom stations in Kharlachi and Ghulam Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the newspaper, coal imports from Afghanistan will be used in power production at Hubco and Sahiwal plants.

Pakistan believes coal imports from Afghanistan will help ensure its energy security. Kabul has agreed to export coal through trucks via land routes.
