Kabul-Tehran agreement on providing water to Iran
The Ministry of Energy and Water of the Islamic Emirate is committed to providing water to Iran in accordance with the Helmand Treaty.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Following the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Islamic Emirate to Tehran, the Ministry has announced the agreement between Kabul and Tehran on providing water to Iran under the Helmand Agreement. Under the agreement, the Ministry of Energy and Water is committed to supplying Iran with water in accordance with the agreement.
 
According to the report, Barakatullah Arioubi, head of the Ministry of Energy and Water's Trans boundary Waters, said that at the 25th Helmand Water Summit in Tehran, it was agreed that this year would be an abnormal water year and that both countries would implement the water treaty.
 
He said the two countries had agreed to build joint facilities and water metering stations to pay the fee in accordance with the Helmand Water Treaty.
 
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Islamic Emirate has announced that the construction of the Kamal Khan Dam will be completed soon, with the aim of managing the country's waters on the Helmand River.
