Annual production of dates yields showed an increases in Nangarhar province, currently reaching to 150 tons in a year, according to the provincial Agriculture Department.

Nangarhar’s agriculture department said the province has a suitable climate for many fruits, including date palms.
At least 80 acres of date palms were planted in the Goshti and Surkhrod area of Nangarhar.
The province includes many fruits collection on which dates are also grown. In the coming year 380 acres of date orchards will be established in the region, where 180 acres of these palms will be planted by Wadi Agriculture Company.
If the efforts on dates cultivation by the Agriculture department continue like this, soon the province will be enough self-sufficient in the production of such fruits, according to officials.
