Kunar governor’s spokesperson Abdul Ghani Mosamim said the Pakistani army carried out “illegal operations” at zero point along the Durand Line and also fired rockets at civilian areas and security checkpoints at around 1 am.
“Pakistani forces wanted to build checkpoints in the [de facto] border area,” Mosamin said, but the Afghan security forces responded on time to the attack.
Mosamim confirmed that while there were no ongoing cross-border conflicts in the area, the Pakistani military continued to fire the rockets.
Casualties were reported when one of the rockets hit a house in Asadabad.
