The Wardak governor’s office said in a statement on Thursday that a Taliban base in the village of Patan in the Sayedabad district of the province has been targeted in an airstrike.
According to the Wardak governor’s office, four Taliban fighters were killed in the airstrike, and Mullah Wali Jan, known as Hamza, the Taliban’s shadow governor, was wounded along with eight Taliban fighters.
According to a press release, the Taliban base was destroyed along with a number of ammunition from the group.
