Afghanistan reopens border with Iran
Afghanistan has reopened its border with Iran, a day after closing it over fears of spread of coronavirus, Afghanistan's National Security Council said.
In a statement, NSC said that a committee formed to prevent coronavirus had decided that control measures should be put in place on Afghanistan-Iran border to allow passenger movement.
It also said that passengers who are coming from coronavirus hotspots and who are subject to quarantine should immediately be quarantined.
At least 12 people have died and scores infected with the coronavirus in Iran as of Monday.
On Monday, Afghanistan confirmed first case of coronavirus in the country. The patient, a 35-yaar-old man, had returned from Iran’s Qom city.
