UAE to train female Afghan army cadets
A group of 50 female Afghan army cadets is set to travel to the United Arab Emirates soon for military training, Afghanistan's acting defense minister said on Sunday.
The training course will be for short period but “very valuable”, Acting Defense Minsiter Asadullah Khalid said speaking at a conference of female soldiers for peace and security.
The announcement comes days after Khalid met with UAE officials during a visit to the Gulf country.
Afghan forces have more than 4,700 female personnel, according to a report by a US watchdog earlier this year.
US, UK, Turkey and India have offered training to Afghan female cadets.
Referring to the election, Khalid said that Afghan forces have not acted in a partisan manner, but he warned that they will not never violence.
“Your security forces now have the ability to prevent enemies’ conspiracies,” Khalid said.
