Nearly 2,000 Citizens
Nearly 2,000 projects under Citizens' Charter National Priority Programme have been executed, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said on Saturday.

The projects have been executed over the past three years at the cost of $250 million, the ministry said.
Rural Rehabiliation and Development Minister Mujib-ur-Rahman Karimi said that work on 8,000 more projects is underway.
The projects include building schools. Data from the ministry shows that out of 6,000 schools planned in the programme, 2,500 schools have been built.
Some local councils’ officials, however, criticized the implementation of projects in the programme, saying they were not implemented the way they should have been.
They said that there were no projects for women.
The Independent Directorate of Local Governance, however, rejected the claims saying women had role in executing half of the projects.
Eight government institutions are involved in Citizens’ Charter programme. $700 million has been allocated for first phase of the programme under which 10,000 projects are expected to be executed.
