AVA- The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East announced Saturday that the Afghan Air Force carried out airstrikes against Taliban hideouts in Ghaziabad district of Kunar on Friday night.
According to a statement released by 201st Silab Corps, at least five militants were killed during the airstrikes which were carried out with the help of A-29 light attack aircraft.
The 201st Silab Corps in a separate statement said Afghan Air Force MD-530s carried out similar airstrikes in Ela Sai district of Kapisa province leaving two militants dead.
The statement also added that one of the local commanders of the group identified as Sher Agha was among those killed.
The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.
