Angry protestors shut Jawzjan governor’s house
Hundreds of angry protestors on Tuesday blocked entrances to the governor’s house in northern Jwazjan province and threatened to close all key roads if Abdul Qadir Malia is not introduced as new deputy governor.

Supporters of Malia set the government a three-day deadline until Saturday to introduce Malia as new deputy governor or they would permanently close the governor’ house.
Mukhi Bai, a protestor, told Pajhwok Afghan News they would launch huge protests if their demand was not met.
He said, “We have shut the governor’s house office against the governor and his staff and set them a three-day deadline to meet our demand.”
Meanwhile, Governor Abdul Latif Azizi told Pajhwok that the protestors had promised local officials that they would not carry out rally until next Thursday but they closed his office today.
He said efforts were underway through first vice-president Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum to resolve the issue and called the ongoing protest as against the law.
