AVA- The Afghan army along with the police forces and the help of NDS security personnel carried out joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Kapisa, Parwan, Ghazni, Kandahar, Badghis, Balkh, Jawzjan, Takhar, Sar-e-Pul, Faryab and Helmand provinces, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement on Monday. These counterterrorism operations left 77 insurgents dead, and 42others wounded.
The Afghan forces also arrested two suspects during operation and handed over them to judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations, 35 Taliban fighters were killed, 17 wounded, one vehicle and seven motorbike with weapons and ammunitions belonged to the enemy destroyed in Abkamari and center of Badghis, eight militants killed and 12 others wounded in Khwaja Ghar district of Takhar, eight insurgents killed and one wounded in Shahwali kot district of Kandahar, seven rebels killed and nine others wounded in Sayad district of Sar-e-Pul province.
Similarly, seven terrorists were killed and some ammunitions of the enemy destroyed Qarabagh district of Ghazni, six militants killed in Garmsir district of Helmand, three insurgents killed and three others wounded in Khwaja Sabz Posh district of Faryab and three Daesh loyalists killed in Khogianai district of Nangarhar province.
In past 24 hours, 15 planed clearing operations, and 88 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 149 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including 13 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
The ANA also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
