President Ghani Meets Qatar’s Envoy

AVA- The visit comes as the second round of peace talks between the Taliban group and the US special representative on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad has been held in Doha, Qatar for six days. According to US officials, this round of talks had significant progress towards peace in Afghanistan.
During the meeting held at the presidential palace (ARG), the two sides discussed Afghan peace process, the office of the president said in a statement.
President Ghani appreciated Qatar’s efforts in facilitating peace in Afghanistan.
According to the statement, the government and the people of Afghanistan want an honorable and lasting peace in the country.
