Eight security personnel have been killed in a landmine blast on their vehicle in north western Faryab province, a reliable source said on Wednesday.

AVA- The incident happened in the Dasht-i-Faizabad locality of Sherin Taghab district when security personnel on-board in the vehicle were returning from offensive in Maimana back to Mazar-i-Sharif.
Syed Sharafuddin, the acting administrative chief of Sherin Taghab, district confirmed the blast and the killing of security personnel but he added the exact number of the victims was not clear.
Police spokesman Abdul Karim Youresh also confirmed the blast on security personnel vehicle in Sherin Taghab but added the number of dead person should be confirmed from the concerned security organ.
