The campaign will last for 20 days until 17
th October, three days before the Election Day.
The vote will see nearly 2,700 candidates running for 250 parliamentary seats.
Ahead of the campaign, the Independent Election Commission warned candidates against violation of campaign rules.
Hafizullah Hashimi, a spokesman for the Independent Election Commission, said that the candidates should not stoke ethnic division or erect their posters in undesired places.
There will be no campaign in Ghazni province due to security reasons and controversy over its division into multiple electoral constituencies.
Amid concerns that government resources will be exploited during the election campaign, Shah Hussian Murtazai, deputy presidential spokesman, said that the government would not allow anyone to exploit its resources for the election campaign.
Meanwhile, IEC emphasized that the biometric verification of voters on the Election Day will be controlled by the commission itself.
Earlier, there were reports that the process would be managed by the Central Statistics Organization.
