The Office of the Chief Executive in a statement said Chief Executive Abdullah offered condolences regarding the recent incident and emphasized that the two countries should work jointly to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
In his turn, President Rouhani said he was sad that the people of the two countries are the victims of terrorism as he emphasized that the two nations could eliminate the menace of terrorism with joint cooperation.
In the meantime, Chief Executive Abdullah thanked the Iranian government for its policies towards Afghanistan, mainly for hosting the Afghan refugees and emphasized on further strengthening of the bilateral relations.
Abdullah further added that the enemies of Afghanistan attempted to spark divisions among the people with the recent targeted attacks but the plots of the enemies have been thwarted due to the understanding and vigilance of the Afghan nation.
He also pointed towards the importance of the upcoming parliamentary elections and called it an important towards political stability in the country.
In the meantime, President Rouhani said the bilateral cooperation agreement between the two nations should be finalized as he informed regarding the preparations regarding the utilization of Chabahar port and construction of railway network up to the borders of Afghanistan.
President Rouhani also added that Tehran is prepared to assist Afghanistan in countering the drugs smuggling along the border between the two countries.
In his turn, Chief Executive Abdullah informed regarding the developments for the finalization of the bilateral agreement between the two countries and would be signed in the near future.
The two sides also held talks on other issues of bilateral interests including available opportunities for economic cooperation.
