AVA- The security forces, according to the police officer, launched the mop-up Saturday morning outside provincial capital Ghazni city and so far have arrested six armed insurgents.
Taliban militants, in a surprise move on Aug. 13, overrun Ghazni's provincial capital Ghazni city and ruled it for four days during which a number of people including civilians had been killed and several government and private buildings were destroyed or burned to ashes.
Ghazni police chief said the cleanup operations would last until the militants are wiped out of the area to ensure lasting peace there.
Taliban militants are yet to make comment on the situation.
