Afghanistan celebrates 99 years of independence
The 99th year of independence of Afghanistan was celebrated in capital Kabul and other provinces and cities of the country.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani participated in the wreath laying ceremony of the Independence Day along with some other high level government officials.
The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the Independence Day wreath laying ceremony was organized in the Ministry of Defense where President Ghani laid wreath at the independence monument to pay tribute to King Amanullah Khan, martyrs, and those who fought for the independence of the country.
The statement further added that Chief Executive of the Unity Government Abdullah, First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostu, former President Hamid Karzai, King Amanullah’s daughter Princess India, second deputy chief executive Mohammad Mohaqiq, Supreme Court Chief Syed Yousuf Halim, National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Ulema Council Chief Mawlavi Qeyamuddin Kashaf, cabinet members, presidential advisers, parliament and Supreme Court members, army generals and officers, and the ambassadors and envoys of some countries had attended the ceremony.
