Five killed in Taliban-Daesh clash in Laghman
Four Daesh militants were killed in a clash with Taliban overnight in Afghanistan's eastern province of Laghman, the country's army said Saturday.
The battle happened in Noorlam Dara area of Alingar district, said Shirin Aqa Faqiri, a spokesman for Army Corps 201.
Taliban in a statement claimed that dozens of Daesh militants were killed by its fighters. It also confirmed death of one of its fighters in the clash.
Explosion kills one, wounds three in Kandahar
In a separate incident, an explosion killed one civilian and wounded three more in southern province of Kandahar on Saturday.
The blast happened at a market in Spin Boldak district.
It was triggered by explosives placed in a vehicle parked in the area.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
