Afghan CE off to Geneva to attend U.N. human rights meeting
Afghanistan's Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday left Kabul for Geneva city of Switzerland to attend a meeting of the U.N. Human Rights Council.
AVA- The two-day 37th session of UNHRC meeting will start Monday.

Abdullah will deliver a speech during the meeting and will also attend a U.N. event on anti-personnel mines prohibition convention, according to a statement released by his office.

Afghanistan was elected as member state of UNHRC in October last year.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Abdullah will also meet with U.N. chief, UNHRC high commissioner, foreign ministers of Switzerland and Norway, Australia’s Governor-General and other officials.

During the visit, Abdullah will also deliver a speech on security situation in Afghanistan and its effect on international and regional stability at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
