AVA- At least ten insurgents were killed in a special operation in northern Parwan province on Monday night, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.
The operation was launched on a Taliban hideout in Seyagerd district of the province in which the forces destroyed the Taliban’s hideout, according to the statement, adding that “the forces also discovered weapons and explosive devices during the operations.”
“The Taliban planned and launched insurgent attacks in the district,” it said.
The statement did not provide further details.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Haroon Mubarez, a security police official in the province claimed that the foreign troops were also involved in the operation, adding that “the operation was launched in the district to clear the insurgent hideouts.”
However, he did not provide more details about the operation.
The Taliban have not yet commented over the operation.
