Dialogue only way forward to end war: Cleric body
The Afghanistan Ulema Council (AUC) on Tuesday stressed the need for reviving the peace talks with insurgents to end the ongoing conflict, calling recent attacks as haram in which dozens of innocent people lost lives. Over 150 people have been killed and more than 370 injured in three deadliest attacks by the Taliban in the past ten days.

AVA- Uleman Council head Mualvi Qiyamuddin Kashaf condemned recent terrorist attacks during a press conference on Tuesday and said the target was innocent people.  “It seems the enemy has turned on the people of Afghanistan.”

He said the ulema council had already declared terrorist attacks as haram, inhuman and illegal. “The killing of innocent Muslims is not permitted in any religion and has no religious justification.”

Referring to a recent Fatwa of Pakistani scholars in which they have declared suicide attacks as haram, said when Quranic references on a about certain issues existed, there was no need for a fatwa for them.

He welcomed Indonesian president’s suggestion to organize meeting of Afghan and Pakistani ulema on the Afghan peace process.

Mualvi Attaullah Ludin, a member of the High Peace Council (HPC), said the government and the HPC remained interested in peace talks, but recent attacks showed the militants had no faith in the reconciliation process.

The AUC asked the government to take necessary measures for protection of civilian lives, provide full support to the victims of recent bombings and protect national interests.
