UN to create national and international markets for Afghan agricultural products
Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock say the deputy minister met with the deputy director of the United Nations Development Program in Afghanistan and called for the establishment of national and international markets to sell the country's agricultural products.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Misbahuddin Mostain, head of information and public awareness of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, said in an interview with AVNA that Maulvi Prime Minister Osmani, the ministry's deputy minister of agriculture and livestock, met with Ms. Deol, deputy director of the United Nations Development Programme.
He said that Maulavi Osmani stressed the need to create national and international markets for Afghan agricultural products and asked UN project officials to pay more attention to this issue.
According to Musta'in, he added that UN projects should focus on economic growth, marketing of agricultural products and supporting farmers in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Afghan farmers and people need more support and assistance, and we will continue to do so," Deol said, announcing the continuation of UN cooperation in the fields of agriculture, livestock and marketing of Afghan products.
The head of information and public awareness of the Ministry of Agriculture says that the UNDP, as the UN Global Development Network, supports positive change in countries and helps improve people's lives by providing the necessary knowledge, experience and resources.
According to him, the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan also intends to attract the attention of national and international organizations to implement various projects in the field of water management, poverty reduction, increase job opportunities, and promote agriculture and livestock.
