Three would-be suicide bombers have been detained in Baharak district of northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said Sunday.
AVA- Col. Mohammad Naim Majidi, the commander for 20th Pamir Unit in Badakhshan, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the suicide bombers belonged to Kunduz province wanted to sneak into Baharak district and target Afghan forces there.
But all of the three would-be suicide bombers were detained before reaching to their target, he said.
He said that all the would-be bombers were equipped with suicide vests and arrested in Yahoj area of Baharak district.
The detainees are currently under investigation with the National Directorate of Security (NDS), he concluded.
