AVA- The visit by the powerful governor, who has repeatedly criticized the central government, was aimed at attending a major gathering of politicians including parliamentarians. Batur Dostum, a son of Abdul Rashid Dostum, the first vice-president of the country, was also set to accompany Noor.
Noor and other politicians were expected to leave for Kandahar province on Thursday night, but the visit was stopped by the government and as a result it was cancelled, Jamiat said in a statement.
Condemning the move, the party called it illegal, adding the decision means that the government doesn’t believe in democracy.
Earlier, the Independent Civil Aviation Authority said that it issued permit to the flight for two times, but theywere cancelled by the airline including one for delay in flight.
