Wolesi Jirga Secretariat director suspended over graft charges

AVA- Wolesi Jirga or lower house of the parliament earlier tasked members of five permanent commission of the house to scrutinized allegations of corruption and illegal appointments against the director of secretariat and present the result to the house in three days.

First Deputy Speaker Humayon Humayon earlier referred the lower house secretariat head to the attorney office over alleged embezzlement and illegal appointments, a charged the head secretary already rejected.

 In Saturday session, Erfanullah Erfan, head of the investigative commission, announced suspension of secretariat director job, return of 5.3 million afghanis by the speaker back to the account of the lower house and banned on first and deputy speakers for 10 to 17 days from attending the proceeding of the house.
