The request of the Committee for the Protection of Journalists to cancel the plan to block Facebook/Ministry of Communications: this decision is only a plan
After reacting to the plan to block Facebook by the Islamic Emirate, including the request of the Committee to Protect Journalists to cancel this plan, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology says that this decision is only a plan and only content that is related to national interests and culture.
After Najibullah Haqqani, Acting Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, said about the policy of restricting and banning Facebook in Afghanistan, this issue has resulted in many reactions.

In response to this decision, the Committee for the Protection of Journalists demanded its cancellation and said that this decision hinders the free flow of information.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said in a news release: "The Committee to Protect Journalists urges the Islamic Emirate to reconsider its decision to restrict or ban access to Facebook in Afghanistan." This will harm the process of accessing information."

At the same time, Enayatullah Alkozi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, told the media that this decision is only a plan and only the content that conflicts with the national interests and culture of Afghanistan will be limited.

According to Tolo News, he also called Facebook an obstacle to access to information and added: "Actually, Facebook is an obstacle to access to information, and these restrictions imposed on the official pages of the government have made the government unable to present its views to the people. neither the people are able to send their messages to the government.

Mr. Alkozi added that this decision is only a plan and there has been no discussion about its implementation.
