High-ranking officials of cultural heritage and tourism of Herat visit Mashhad
Iran's cultural adviser in Herat says that a group of high-ranking officials of cultural heritage and tourism of Herat province have traveled to Mashhad.

He further added that Mohammadi, the chief director of Herat province's tourism sector, and Rezvani, the chief director of cultural heritage, were present at the head of this delegation.
 
Khaliqnia also added: The members of the Herat tourism committee first met with Seyyed Javad Mousavi, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Khorasan Razavi, Mohammad Ali Tusli, Director General of Pilgrims' Welfare Affairs of Khorasan Razavi Governorate, as well as the deputies of cultural heritage and tourism and a number of tourism activists in the province. They visited the Khorasan Grand Museum.
 
We do not consider Herat apart from us
Seyyedjavad Mousavi, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Razavi Khorasan, presented a report on the state of historical works and monuments, tourism and handicrafts of the province and stated: We have 2,200 historical works, 100 museums, approx. We have one third of the country's museums and eight registered world works. Also, 55% of the country's residential units are located in Mashhad, and Mashhad has earned the title of the world city of gem handicrafts.
 
He also clarified that Iran and Afghanistan are two friendly countries, neighbors and co-speakers, and we are ready to cooperate in registering tangible and intangible cultural heritage works, registering Iftar and Nowruz table jointly. Of course, we are currently working on the global registration of the architectural works of the Timurid period, parts of which are in Herat.
 
Mousavi further added: We do not consider Herat separate from us, because it was one of the important cities of Greater Khorasan, for this reason, we are ready to organize joint tourism tours.
 
The trip of a thousand tourists from 60 countries to Herat in 2023
Rahmatullah Gul Mohammadi, Director General of Tourism of Herat province, also stated in this meeting: Iran and Afghanistan share a common religion and have a lot in common in many matters. Today, tourism is one of the most lucrative jobs in the world, and the authorities should increase people's welfare so that they can travel.
 
He further stated: Tourism is one of the leading industries in the world. In Herat, there are 870 historical works that we are registering, and with the cooperation of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Razavi Khorasan, we can register the joint works globally.
 
Gulmohammadi also added: Tourism is now booming in Herat due to the increased security factor, and we had many applicants for travel in 2023. Last year, a thousand tourists from 60 countries traveled to Herat. We hope this number will increase in 2024.
 
In the end, drafting a memorandum of understanding to carry out joint activities was placed on the agenda of both institutions.
