Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper published new details of martyr Yahya al-Sanwar's movements and movements in Gaza in a report in which it described "informed sources within Hamas".
This newspaper has obtained information from various sources inside and close to the Hamas movement, which shows that the soldiers of the occupying regime had approached Yahya al-Sanwar at least five times before his accidental martyrdom. His martyrdom occurred during the normal military operation of the Israeli forces in the "Tel Sultan" area in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip last month.
These sources disclosed the details of the movements of the head of the political office of Hamas movement and his associates during the war. They also mentioned that Martyr Al-Sunwar had sent a message to his family about the details of the martyrdom of Ibrahim Muhammad Al-Sunwar, his brother's son who was with him, and his burial place. Informed sources mentioned by Al-Sharq Al-Awsat also said that the said message reached his brother's family two days after the martyrdom of Yahya Al-Sanwar, so that this message took two months to reach its destination due to the strict security considerations that Martyr Al-Sanwar followed.
It is stated in this report that after entering several tunnels in Khan Yunis, the Israeli soldiers came across the recorded images of the cameras inside the tunnels, which showed Shahid al-Sanwar moving some items into the tunnel. He was in this tunnel with his family hours before the attack on October 7, 2023 (Operation Storm Al-Aqsa) and also on the day of the attack.
According to this report, the Zionist army failed to find Martyr al-Sanwar in Khan Younis tunnels, meanwhile, Yahya al-Sanwar had to move his wife and children to another place due to continuous pursuit.
According to these sources, which Al-Sharq al-Awsat called "reliable sources", the wife and children of martyr Yahya Al-Sanwar are now in perfect health. On the same days of the chase, they received written messages from Martyr Al-Sanuwar every 45 days.
According to Fars, the Khan Younis operation, the Zionist occupying army launched an attack on Khan Younis in January and predicted that the martyr Yahya al-Sanwar was hiding in one of the city's tunnels. During this period, martyred Yahya Al-Sunwar along with his brother Mohammad, "Mohammed Zaif" and "Rafi Salameh" were the commanders of the Khan Yunis battalion.
However, these four people were not always together and were sometimes separated temporarily during the war. They would spend hours or days together and then split up depending on field conditions. A strange incident, the mentioned sources of Al-Sharq al-Awsat revealed such a secret that only a few people are aware of; According to them, one day the Israeli soldiers were only a few tens of meters away from the house where Martyr Al-Sanuwar was. He was at home with only one person who helped him hide and was his personal bodyguard.
Martyr Sanwar was armed and ready to fight with Israeli soldiers in the event of a possible attack on his house, but suddenly Hamas fighters entered by destroying the wall of the house. They accidentally bumped into Martyr Sanwar. In the urban battle, Hamas fighters were moving by destroying the walls of the houses and in this case they were able to meet the martyr Sanwar by making a hole in the wall of the house.
Martyr Yahya al-Sanwar immediately left the house and the Mujahideen of Hamas moved him to a safe house about one kilometer away through the holes they made in the walls of the nearby houses. He was then transferred to another house where he met his brother Mohammad and Rafe Salameh. These three people were separated by the expansion of Israeli operations in the area and a few tens of meters away from Al-Nasser Hospital.
Informed sources say that he was forced to go from Khan Yunis to Rafah last February under the pressure of his brother Mohammad Al-Sanwar, Rafi Salameh and Mujahideen of Hamas. At that time, the Israeli occupying forces had almost completely dominated Khan Yunis and actually imposed its siege. But with underground and ground transfers, he was safely transferred to Rafah city.
A nephew who stood by his uncle until the end
According to sources related to Hamas, "Ibrahim Muhammad Al-Sunwar", the son of "Muhammad Al-Sunwar", the brother of the martyr Yahya Al-Sunwar, who was one of the prominent leaders of Qassam, did not leave the martyr during the entire war. Both Yahya and Muhammad named their children Ibrahim.
In August, Ibrahim Mohammad Sanwar was shot and killed when he went out of the tunnel opening in Rafah to monitor the movements of the occupying forces.
Martyr Yahya Sanwar sent a message to his brother's family in which he described how Ibrahim was martyred and where he was buried in an underground tunnel. He also wrote that he prayed over his body. This message reached the family two days after Martyr Sanwar. It means that it took more than two months to send the message.
The arrival of this message to the family of Mohammad Al-Sanwar about the death of their eldest son, two days after the martyrdom of Yahya Al-Sanwar, showed the difficulty and complexity of the security conditions of the head of the Hamas political office. While he was wanted by Israel, he was taking strict measures to avoid creating any weak points that would give him easy access to the occupying army. This issue also explains his "accidental" type of testimony.
Informed sources told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that martyr Yahya Al-Sunwar stayed in Rafah for several months and moved to different areas. He was stationed in the western areas of Rafah since the end of last May and was present in underground and above ground areas.
According to these sources, during the entire period of separation from his brother Mohammad, Mohammad Zaif and Rafe Salameh, he periodically communicated with them through written messages. He used his specific and unique security methods for this communication. He also used the same method to communicate with the leadership of Hamas inside and outside Palestine, especially when it comes to communicating with mediators regarding any kind of ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposals.
Martyrdom during hunger
According to the sources cited by Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, martyr Yahya Al-Sunwar and his companions had a hard time accessing food, especially in the last three days when they had not eaten any food. According to the pictures that have been published of the belongings of martyr Yahya al-Sanwar, the presence of some candies shows that this martyr's only food in the last days of his life, with his blessing, was a few candies.
In the last 15 days, Mahmoud Hamdan, commander of Tal Sultan Battalion, who was martyred the day after Yahya al-Sanwar's martyrdom, tried to take him out of that area and transfer him to a safe area. But due to the intensity of military operations in the region, these efforts were unsuccessful.
These sources also said that Martyr al-Sanuwar insisted on being present in many operations, but every time he was forced to move due to the conditions of the battle, he was personally present several times in intense clashes with the occupying forces.
