Education Ministry officials in the government's public accountability program say nearly 11 million students attend more than 18,000 schools. They also reported printing and distributing more than 16 million textbooks to students last year.

He said that 1 million 445 thousand 840 students were enrolled in public and private schools during the past year and added: The total number of students in public and private schools reaches more than 10 million 914 thousand.
The Ministry of Education official said 316 schools, including 106 public schools and 210 new private schools, had been established in the past year, bringing the total number of schools across the country to 18,337.
 
He also announced the upgrading of 152 public and private primary schools to secondary schools and 119 public and private secondary schools to high schools. They are busy learning.
 
The Minister of Islamic Education also announced special education and provision of education in 18 provinces for 484 disabled children and said that 3 thousand 844 disabled students have also been provided with educational materials and facilities in 19 provinces.
 
He informed that 16 million 188 thousand 939 textbooks for students from first to twelfth grade and 617 thousand 978 textbooks for Islamic education centers have been printed and distributed in the past year. 294 thousand 641 volumes of literacy books have also been printed and distributed throughout the country.
The official of the Ministry of Education reported that more than 16,000 schools implemented the curriculum last year and said that the teaching process of more than 21,000 teachers in educational centers, local classes and literacy programs was monitored. 5,760 teachers have been introduced to capacity building programs.
 
He also announced capacity building programs for 248,113 ministry employees, including officials and teachers.
 
Mr. Akhundzada also informed about the ministry's efforts to revise and improve textbooks and vocabulary, as well as to review the quality of service delivery in educational institutions during the past year.
 
He said that 21 thousand 257 Islamic education centers including 19 thousand 669 schools, 1 thousand 277 Darul Hafaz, 115 Darul Ulooms and 39 orphanages were established in the country during the past year. 200 people are learning Islamic teachings.
 
Meanwhile, Qari Mansoor Ahmad Hamza, spokesman for the Ministry of Education, said in response to reporters' questions about the reopening of schools for girls above the sixth grade: "We are satisfied with the information of the central government spokesman about the reopening of girls' schools and say that they are closed until further notice. ."
 
In response to a question from Ava reporter regarding the overall budget of the ministry during the past year, he added; The ministry's budget last year was 32 billion Afghanis, of which 98 percent was spent.
 
The ministry also announced the payment of 5,000 afghanis per month to female teachers, adding that more than 700,000 people are teaching religious education in the country, including women and girls.
