The Afghan currency has appreciated by more than 17 percent against the dollar in the past year
Central Bank officials said the Afghan currency had appreciated 17 percent against the dollar over the past year, while inflation had fallen to minus 6.6 percent.

He announced an increase in customer deposit withdrawals from 70,000 Afghanis per week to 150,000 Afghanis and from 250,000 to 500,000 Afghanis per month, adding;In dollar accounts, the figure has increased from $1,000 to $2,000 a week and from $3,000 to $6,000 a month.
 
Meanwhile, Ahmad Javad Sadad, head of monetary policy at the central bank, said 7 billion 186 million 544 thousand Afghanis of banknotes were collected from the center and provinces and burned. Instead, new banknotes have been introduced.
 
Meanwhile, Ehsanullah Mansour, deputy director of the Banking Investigation Department, said 149 licenses were issued to exchange offices and money service companies in the past year. The total number of licenses issued reaches 1,780.
 
Ahmad Zahir Nasirzai, head of the supervision of non-banking financial institutions, announced the development of a national strategy for the use of electronic money in the country. , hospitals and public and private offices have been installed.
 
He said the central bank had succeeded in reducing inflation over the past year, adding that in previous years, the inflation rate was 8 percent, but last year it fell to minus 6.6 percent.
 
The Head of Supervision of Non-Banking Financial Institutions said that five cases of inspection and follow-up, two targeted inspections and 12 unexpected inspections including liquidity treasury monitoring, as well as 20 inspections to combat money laundering and proceeds of crime and 124 inspections and analysis of Commercial banks also reported in the country.
 
Meanwhile, Asadullah Moshfaq, head of the country's payment system, said 377 exchange offices and money service companies were monitored, eight cases of internal monitoring and six cases of foreign monitoring of electronic money institutions. 700 systems have also been registered with the central bank.
 
He also added that in the past year, the Central Bank of Afghanistan has introduced necessary facilities regarding the opening of individual accounts, initial deposits, activation of inactive accounts, and annual fees for individual and corporate accounts.
 
Central bank officials also said in the accountability program that the bank had auctioned dollars 39 times in the past year to stabilize the exchange rate of the Afghan currency.
 
They added that this monetary policy is the best way to maintain the exchange rate of the Afghan currency against foreign currencies.
