US intelligence: Iran's Kerman explosions were the work of ISIS's Khorasan branch

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Sources told Reuters on Friday that information obtained from the communications indicated that the Khorasan branch of ISIS carried out the attack.

The explosions on Wednesday last week in the city of Kerman, Iran, were the deadliest attack of its kind in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack on Thursday and said it was carried out by two of its suicide bombers at a memorial service for Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the IRGC's Quds branch.

ISIS did not specify that the attack was carried out by the Khorasan branch.

A US intelligence source told Reuters news agency that the US has clear information that the Khorasan branch of ISIS carried out the attack.

The government of Iran announced on Friday that it has arrested eleven people in connection with this attack and explosive materials have been recovered from them./Ariana News
