Pakistan's Foreign Minister meets caretaker government delegation: Islamabad is committed to beneficial relations with Afghanistan

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan last night (Wednesday, January 3), in this meeting, key issues of mutual interest, including peace and security.

 

In this meeting, the Acting Foreign Minister of Pakistan has also emphasized on addressing the issues needed to use the full capacity of trade and connectivity in the region.

 

The announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan states that the delegation of the Islamic Emirate has appreciated Pakistan's generous hosting of millions of Afghan refugees for more than fourteen decades.

 

Pakistan's foreign ministry added that the Afghan delegation has agreed to continue "high-level interaction and dialogue" to strengthen bilateral relations.

 

The ministry's announcement states that this delegation participated in the meeting of the joint coordination committee of the two countries and discussed facilitating travel across the borders of the two countries.

 

Earlier, Pakistani media had reported that Mullah Shirin Akhund is traveling to Islamabad in an effort to reduce the tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan over the alleged presence of TTP fighters in Afghanistan.

 

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the caretaker government, also wrote on his X social page that the meeting of the joint coordination committee of the two countries was held in Pakistan and the Afghan delegation participated in this meeting.
