Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: In a meeting with Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, held in Geneva on Wednesday, Hossein Amirabdollahian highlighted the US’ pivotal role in the war on Gaza.
“Without the US’ support, the Zionist regime will be incapable of continuing the war even for an hour,” he said.
Amirabdollahian noted that the Israeli regime has achieved none of its objectives in the onslaught against Gaza for more than two months, which is why the Zionists seek to displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through the massacre of civilians.
He also stressed the need for the Muslim countries to throw their weight behind the Palestinian nation.
For his part, the Lebanese prime minister described the crisis in Gaza as an issue of overriding importance, saying the recent resolution passed by the UN General Assembly indicated that the majority of countries favor a ceasefire in Gaza.
He further briefed Amirabdollahian on the latest conditions in southern Lebanon and the common border with the Israeli-occupied territories.
More than 18,600 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks against Gaza since October 7./Tasnim News
