Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: In a meeting with his Russian counterpart in Moscow on Thursday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi hailed the growing relations between the two countries, describing the cooperation with Russia as an important issue in Iran's neighborhood policy.
Referring to close interaction between Iran and Russia in the fields of energy, agriculture and knowledge-based companies, Raisi called for more effective steps in the development of cooperation to serve the interests of the two nations.
Elsewhere in the meeting, Raisi said, “What has caused the suffering of humanity is unilateralism and the unjust world order, one of the manifestations of which can be seen in Gaza today.”
He slammed the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the defenseless people of Gaza as genocide and a crime against humanity, his official website reported.
“The martyrdom of more than 6,000 children by the criminal Zionist regime causes suffering and regret, but what is more unfortunate is that these crimes are supported by the United States and Western countries or it is faced with the silence and indifference of international organizations claiming human rights and shows their inefficiency,” he added.
Referring to the fact that a child is killed in Gaza every 10 minutes, Raisi emphasized the need to stop the bombings and crimes against Palestinians in Gaza as soon as possible.
For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction with his Iranian counterpart’s visit to Moscow, saying, “The relations between the two countries are at the best level and we believe that with the support of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, these relations will become wider and more dynamic.”
The Russian leader described the participation of Russian businesspeople in Iran's trade fairs and the 20% growth in trade between the two countries with a turnover of $5 billion over the past year as an indication of Tehran-Moscow's determination to open a new chapter in relations.
“Transportation, road and rail projects are being made with good progress between the two countries, and the previous cooperation between Iran and Russia in the energy sector is experiencing growing conditions,” Putin said.
He also noted that Russia and Iran share views on the regional issues, describing talks about Palestine and Gaza as one of the axes of bilateral negotiations between the two states./Tasnim News
