Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Monitoring: According to the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), the destroyer was targeted after aiding the seized tanker ship Central Park in the Gulf of Aden early Monday morning local time.
"The missiles landed approximately ten nautical miles from the ships in the Gulf of Aden," stated CENTCOM.
No damage or injuries were reported from either vessel during the incident.
The Central Park, carrying phosphoric acid with an international crew of 22, sent a distress signal, prompting the response from the US aircraft USS Mason.
The tanker, under the Liberian flag, is managed by London-based Zodiac Maritime, part of the Zodiac Group owned by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer.
Recent events have seen Yemeni forces seizing a vehicle transport ship associated with Israel in the Red Sea and warning for more attacks on Israeli ships in the region in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The attacks come amid drone and missile strikes targeting occupied territories in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
These actions follow Israel's aggression on Gaza, which began in response to a Palestinian resistance group's operation dubbed Al-Aqsa Storm, which sought to retaliate against increased Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
The Tel Aviv regime's aggression has resulted in the deaths of nearly 15,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, and significant destruction in Gaza.
Moreover, a "complete siege" has been imposed, depriving over two million Palestinians of fuel, electricity, food, and water in the coastal enclave./Tasnim news
