Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The President of Uzbekistan, Shaukat Mirziyoyev, said that the security and stability in Central Asia is affected by the situation in Afghanistan.
He made these statements at the meeting of Central Asian leaders in Dushanbe.
According to Asiaplus, Mirziyayev said: "Our region is becoming one of the important centers of economic growth and investment activities and once again playing its historical role as a transportation hub that connects the West to the East and the North to the South.
Mirziyayev has noted that one of the key factors that directly affects security and stability in Central Asia is the situation in Afghanistan.
He added that Uzbekistan continues to provide the necessary assistance to the people of Afghanistan, and for this purpose, it has established a center for humanitarian assistance in Tamerez.
Asiaplus has written that in the meeting of the heads of the Central Asian countries, it was emphasized on the further promotion of the Trans-Afghanistan railway construction project in order to revive the internal transportation arteries of Afghanistan.
In addition, in the aforementioned meeting, the importance of dialogue with the Afghan side regarding border security, water use and trade development has been noted.
