Discovery of a mass grave of Shia martyrs in Iraq
An UAE company in northwestern Iraq discovered a mass grave left over from the crimes of ISIS terrorists while digging.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: On Monday (yesterday), the employees of the Emirati company "Dima" discovered a mass grave containing the martyrs of ISIS crimes while digging in the center of "Sinjar" region.

According to the Rudaw base, the remains of five bodies were found in this mass grave, and according to the signs, all of them were Shiites. Khairy Ali, the district governor of Sinjar, also said that the bodies of all the martyrs have been sent to the laboratory for DNA analysis.

This local official added: "The workers of the Emirati company Dima were digging near a hotel in the center of Sinjar when they discovered the remains of the bodies and immediately informed the police. A school was supposed to be built in the place where the bodies were found."

He also said about the identity of the bodies that all of them are Shiites from Sinjar and victims of ISIS terrorists and they were probably martyred in 2014.

This is not the first time a mass grave has been discovered in Sinjar, and it probably won't be the last either. The number of mass graves in Iraq due to ISIS crimes is so high that the Iraqi government has sought help from the United Nations to find them, and Baghdad and Erbil are working together.

According to the Iraqi authorities, according to the information received from the arrested ISIS terrorists, there are believed to be 89 mass graves in the Sinjar region alone. Of these, 39 cases have been discovered so far.

In the month of Pisces last year, a mass grave containing 30 bodies was found in the village of "Hamdan" located in the east of Sinjar, and a large number of local residents participated in the burial of these bodies.

Sinjar is one of the areas that suffered the most damage from the attack of ISIS terrorists on June 4, 2014. This region is located in the northwest of Iraq and near Syria, and it was the first city where ISIS terrorists entered at the beginning of their movement from Syria to Iraq. Initially, they killed 1,293 people, but the final figure is still unclear. On the other hand, ISIS elements kidnapped 6417 people (3548 women and 2869 men) in this area.

According to the latest UN statistics in August 2022, more than 2,700 people from Sinjar are still missing. At the same time, more than 200,000 displaced survivors of ISIS crimes are still living in the camps.

The UN report states that, in addition to human casualties, ISIS Takfiris destroyed about 80% of infrastructure and 70% of civilian homes in Sinjar city and its surrounding areas.

Also, almost 85% of Sinjar's population relied on agriculture before 2014, and ISIS terrorists destroyed wells and irrigation canals and agricultural lands and stole or damaged agricultural machinery.
