Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_Monitoring, The meeting was organized by the Journalists Safety Committee (JSC) in which Information Department Director Rafiullah Samim, civilian and military officials of Logar took part.
Radio Zenat Editor-in-Chief Noorullah Stanikzai said coordination between government institutions and journalist had increased compared to the past but still some media outlets in the province suffered from financial issues and faced the problem of access to information.
He asked the Information Department to resolve the financial issues of local media outlet and provide facilities to them in the area of license extension, electricity charges and taxes.
Mahal Radio Employee Sardar Wali Baheej said that access to information had been made easier now comparing to the past but still military officials did not provide security related information.
He thanked that Journalists Safety Committee for organizing this meeting between journalists and government officials.
Information Director Rafiullah Samim also thanked the Journalists Safety Committee for organizing the event in Logar for the first time after the takeover of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
He said coordination between journalists and government institutions had increased comparing to the past and efforts were on to organize monthly coordination meeting between journalists and government institutions.
He said some government institutions will be provided with officials to provide information to journalist while training will be provided to civilian and military institutions spokespersons.
He also acknowledged economic issues faced by journalists and added efforts were only to resolve this problem.
