Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Sources told Afghanistan International that the Islamic Emirate's efforts to get this seat were unsuccessful and Nasir Faiq will continue to represent Afghanistan in the United Nations.
This committee is supposed to announce its decision officially on Friday.
According to the sources, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate gave its credentials to take the seat of Afghanistan, but it was not accepted.
This is the second time that the Islamic Emirate has applied for Afghanistan's seat in the organization. This group made a similar request last year and introduced Sohail Shaheen as its representative in the United Nations.
