Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, while still hospitalized in "Shaukat Khanum" Hospital in Lahore, told reporters: "This demonstration will take 10 to 14 days to reach the city of Rawalpindi, bordering Islamabad, where Imran Khan will join the demonstrators to march towards the capital.
On Thursday, Imran Khan issued an order to stop this long and extensive march following the unsuccessful assassination attempt against him in the Wazirabad district of the Punjab province located in the northeast of Pakistan, which is run by the center-right party "Pakistan Tehreek Insaf".
Imran Khan was shot in the leg.
At least one person was killed and more than 12 others were injured in this attack, which provoked widespread international protests and condemnations.
Imran Khan said: A sea of people from all over the country will gather in Rawalpindi. Until then, I will be speaking at these demonstrations daily from the hospital.
He also welcomed the formation of a commission in the Supreme Court at the suggestion of Shehbaz Sharif, the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, to investigate this act of assassination; A request that Imran Khan had repeated many times.
However, Imran Khan has emphasized that a "free and fair" investigation is impossible until Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and a senior intelligence official whom he accused of involvement in the assassination resign.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani government and army have denied these accusations.
Imran Khan had said: I welcome this proposal, but my first question is whether this proposal and the formation of this commission is useful? When all the agencies are under the leadership of the three people I mentioned, who will conduct the investigation?
He added: God gave me a new life. I assure you that I will continue my fight. Wait for my call.
Imran Khan started this long demonstration on October 28 with the aim of putting pressure on the government to hold early elections.
